LOCALLY ENGAGED INTEGRITY MANAGER

The Visas and Immigration Section requires a bilingual (spoken and written) (English and Spanish) candidate to fill the position of Locally Engaged Integrity Manager (LEIM).

This position is a designated security assessed position. Applicants must be Australian citizens or eligible to acquire a valid security clearance i.e. citizens of Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand. Loss of a security clearance at any time will lead to termination of employment.

LOCALLY ENGAGED INTEGRITY MANAGER

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The LEIM provides integrity support to visa officers and other operations staff to manage risk in applications received from the countries managed by Santiago. They analyse and report on visa caseload and malpractice and contribute to the knowledge and understanding of integrity risks in the Americas region. The LEIM is responsible for maintaining an information database for the purposes of monitoring, analysing and reporting on integrity risks and trends in the visa caseload and assisting the Post maintain and develop networks with key stakeholders to support integrity within visa processing. They manage a high volume workload with limited supervision including the referrals caseload. The LEIM reports directly to the PMO. Occasionally, the LEIM is required to travel and/or attend work out of regular hours.

Duty Statement

In accordance with Workplace Diversity; Work, Health and Safety; and Industrial Democracy principles and practices:

1. Develop and maintain systems to monitor unusual trends and developments in visa caseloads and provide regular reporting on integrity activity, performance and caseload trends.
2. Conduct regular caseload sampling, testing and quality audits to build risk profiles and other information products to enable staff to target cases of concern and develop and implement improvements in caseload management processes and procedures.
3. Identify, investigate and report on integrity concerns involving organised and ad hoc visa malpractice which may include liaison with other Posts, embassies and security agencies where relevant and appropriate.

4. Support operational staff by providing ongoing integrity support and advice and to ensure that the full range of integrity tools are being used effectively and in accordance with agreed standards.

5. Provide integrity support to onshore processing centres by managing referrals and related tasking including the development of environmental information as appropriate.
6. Contribute to the identification of training needs and deliver training in relation to integrity to DIAC staff. This includes identifying existing training material, or in collaboration with colleagues developing new training material as required.
7. Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of a network of contacts and information sources to access broader DIAC, Australian Government and host Government information resources on developments, trends and issues related to visa fraud and malpractice. This can include contacts within organisations such as banks, education institutions and licensing bodies to assist in document verification.

4. Ability to carry out investigations of moderate to high complexity. This includes an ability to manage and interpret high volumes of data.
5. High level written communication skills and proficiency in report writing.
6. Strong liaison, representational and interpersonal skills, including an ability to contribute effectively as a member of a team.
7. High level organisational skills, including the ability to direct effort to areas of greatest potential return.
8. Ability to confidently and effectively deliver training.
