The Australian Embassy in Chile is pleased to announce that the Australian Film Festival ‘Non-Stop Australia’ will be held from Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 October 2017 at the Cultural Centre Matucana 100 (M100) in Santiago. Entry will be free.
The festival will show five award-winning Australian feature films, including some nominated for the Academy Awards (Oscar). The films include:
- Lion (2016), a true story exploring Australian multiculturalism
- The Rover (2014), a futurist drama
- The Water Diviner (2014), historical facts and a script based in a true story
- The Sapphires (2012), a comedy featuring indigenous artists and their stories
- The Dressmaker (2015), a comedy about women’s empowerment
The Non –Stop Australia festival will celebrate the launch of LATAM’s new direct flights from Santiago to Melbourne, which will start on October 5, 2017. Australia and Chile are closer than ever and the new route will make it even easier to travel between the two countries – once it’s running, bringing the total weekly flights to 14.
This is great news for both Chileans and Australians and that’s why we’re celebrating ‘Mes de Melbourne’ during October. We invite you to celebrate with us at Macucana 100 on Wednesday 11 October at 7.30 pm at the film festival’s inauguration. Confirm your attendance with an email to [email protected].
We also invite you to book a seat (limited number) at M100, to see the films: The Rover, The Water Diviner, The Sapphires and The Dressmaker.
Keep an eye out via our Facebook page for various other Mes De Melbourne activities.
